Leadership Institute
Every year, Youth Service California, with support from the California
Department of Education, State Farm, and Learn and Serve America, has
organized a Service-Learning Leadership Institute. This has been a
great opportunity for beginners to advanced-practitioners in
Service-Learning to come together in a spirit of collaboration to share
ideas and engage in high-quality professional development. The
geographical location of the Institute rotates between Northern and
Southern California with this past year’s location being San Jose and
next year’s Anaheim. For all those that are interested in
Service-Learning or Youth Service in general, this is a great
opportunity to connect with others working in this field—the Regional
Leads, CATALYST Youth Ambassadors, VISTA Volunteers, Teachers,
Administrators, and many more—and attend workshops from experts in the
field.
