Mission
The Service-Learning Young Professionals Network (SLYPN) was created to
provide young professionals (20-30-somethings) opportunities to develop
the skills and capacity they need to pursue their interest in and
advance their careers in service-learning.
Purpose
To ensure that our field’s leaders—particularly young
professionals—have the knowledge, skills, and opportunities necessary
to advance and sustain service-learning for many years to come.
Members
We are young professionals who believe in the power and potential of
service-learning to improve education and transform lives and
communities.
Services
SLYPN brings unprecedented access to service-learning experts,
resources, and opportunities right to your fingertips. Specifically,
you have the opportunity to:

Organize regional or local social networking events

Access the latest service-learning research and resources

Engage in dialogue with accomplished service-learning leaders (Sages)

Learn of career and grant opportunities

Discuss current events, books, and journals with peers

Write and publish articles for both service and educational publications

Participate in workshops that address issues key to improving and sustaining service-learning, such as:
- practice and professional development
- research
- constituency-building
- communications and visibility
- diversity
- nonprofit management and leadership
