Established in 2000, CASSL helps after-school programs incorporate service-learning
as a strategy for the healthy development, community engagement
and educational
success of school children. Youth Service California (YSCAL) and the
California Service Corps (formerly known as the California Governor’s
Office of Service and Volunteerism/GO SERV) worked together to secure
funds
to extend
operational
grants, training and technical assistance
to seven (7) partnerships that will serve as the CASSL sites. .
