Collaboration
We effectively partner with people and organizations to support young people as they serve their communities.

Application: We bring together disparate groups and help them learn from each other. We form alliances where there were none, and we seek partners in all our endeavors.

Leadership
We listen and then we lead.

Application: We are the only statewide nonprofit whose mission is to promote and support young people in service. Our responsibility is to discern what needs to be done, and to make it happen. For seventeen years, we have led the way in the professional development of adults who work with young people. We have developed new resources, educated practitioners and policy decision makers, and opened new avenues for youth service.

Excellence
We are known statewide, nationally and internationally for the quality of our work.

Application: A passion for excellence shines through all our work, from our statewide conferences on youth service; to our celebrated workshops, retreats, and institutes; to our award-winning publications.

Personal Development
We embrace service because of its contribution to the development of the whole person: civic, educational, spiritual, and emotional.

Application: We teach an approach to service that takes a holistic view of personal development and the role of service: academic service-learning and youth development through service, and a focus on the spiritual roots of service, and civic engagement through service.
